Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients in various healthcare settings. Working under the direction of physicians and alongside other healthcare professionals, the RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering medications, and implementing treatments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status, including physical, psychological, and social factors, to develop individualized care plans.

  2. Care Planning: Develop and implement nursing care plans based on assessment findings, patient preferences, and evidence-based practices to promote holistic patient care.

  3. Medication Administration: Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.

  4. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, medication regimens, and self-care techniques to facilitate informed decision-making and promote health literacy.

  5. Clinical Procedures: Perform various clinical procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and tracheostomy care with precision and adherence to infection control practices.

  6. Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment interventions, and modify care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and facilitate interdisciplinary communication.

  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including nursing assessments, care plans, medication administration records, and progress notes, in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

  9. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring that they receive respectful and dignified care at all times.

  10. Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing life-saving interventions and coordinating emergency medical services as needed.
